Monster Hunter Rise PC Stuck on Compiling Shaders - How to Fix
Monster Hunter Rise Compile Shaders - Does MHR insist on compiling shaders for you? Don't worry, you are not alone. This is a fix.
Monster Hunter Rise PC stuck compiling shaders for many users
Monster Hunter Rise is an ARPG released exclusively for Nintendo Switch on March 26, 2021. But now, the Microsoft Windows version is finally available, too. This is the sixth mainline game in the Monster Hunter series.
Monster Hunter Rise is a game that takes a lot of cues from Monster Hunter World, but also adds a lot of new features and mechanics, including the addition of a new companion called Palamute for traversing the map or into battle, and traversing the world using nematodes and ride certain monsters.
There's no doubt that Rise is a great game, but that doesn't change the fact that the PC version currently has some bugs and technical issues. It looks like a lot of users are stuck on the compile shader screen and can't play the game. I see a lot of posts like this:
Compile the shader...
The game is still compiling shaders...last 10 minutes...the bar animation is still running but nothing happens, is anyone else stuck here?
It's no surprise that to date, no console has launched perfectly on PC. The question now is, is there a way to fix this?
How to fix compile shader errors in Monster Hunter Rise
The good news is that this is a fix available for this issue and it has been proven to work. The fix comes from Steam user /Paddyn@tor:
I verified the game data in steam settings and he found 1 bad file...now it works for me (still in windows 8 compatibility mode...)
So to fix this all you have to do is:
- Go to your Steam library
- Right click on Monster Hunter Rise
- select properties
- Select "Local Files" from the left column
- Click "Verify Integrity of Game Files..."
This issue mainly occurs when your system is missing files required to play games. By verifying the files, Steam will automatically find the missing content and continue downloading them. One thing to keep in mind, this game takes much less time to compile shaders on SSD than on HDD.
There are many users who have confirmed that it works for them:
