What is Potency in Diablo Immortal and how to increase it?
Diablo Immortal late game builds come with many secondary features that allow players to have a significantly easier time dealing with some of the more challenging enemies the RPG throws at them as the narrative progresses.
Such an Attribute is called Potency. Determines the duration of harmful effects and debuffs applied to enemies in the game. Effects such as stuns, slows, and freezes have a much longer effect when the player's Potency is much higher than the base Resistance the enemy came with.
In layman's terms, if Potency exceeds Resistance, the effects of each of the status effects are significantly prolonged and healed, and vice versa, the duration is reduced.
The duration buff is directly related to the numerical difference between the two Secondary Attributes, and the larger the gap, the longer the duration of the effect. As such, Potency in Diablo Immortal is highly dependent on the build a player will go to.
Increased Potency in Diablo Immortal
The value of Potency in Diablo Immortal is directly related to the player's build and the type of game they want to go for. A character that relies more on usability and weakens the enemy with control effects will want to prioritize Potency and make him a more reliable support character.
DPS won't be a top priority as stun the Diablo Immortal boss for longer will allow the rest of the team to put in lots of free DPS and make the fight significantly easier.
There are three main ways that players can increase their power in the game:
1) will
The primary attribute that should scale is Willpower, as scoring it will increase both Potency and the character's elemental Resistance. Each time the Willpower is increased, the Combat Rating is increased by one, and the Potency and Resistance of the structure are increased by 0.1 along with the Rating.
While Potency is not preferred for many classes in the game, they can still focus on Willpower to increase their Resistance. By doing this, they will have a significantly easier time dealing with enemies with high Potency numbers.
2) Excellent Talents
Paragon Abilities are unlocked in Diablo Immortal when players complete the narrative and reach level 60. This is the level cap in RPG and from there, it starts with the endgame Hellmode and instead of focusing on the core levels, adventurers now level up Paragon.
By allocating Paragon Points to permanent attributes, they can increase their Influence significantly as they progress towards the end of the game.
3) Items
The last way players can increase their willpower in the game is through items. Items in RPG are some of the best ways to improve both primary and secondary stats.
Some items in the game slightly increase the power. However, for the Secondary Attribute to receive the bonus, players must always equip it.
The Importance of Potency in Diablo Immortal
The importance of Potency is often lost to players new to the game and all they care about is scaling their DPS numbers.
In PvP game modes, players can get a significantly increased debuff size of up to 50%, making the encounter noticeably easier for the player and the team.
Against mobs, the duration can be increased by up to 99 percent, which doubles the crowd control effects and makes dungeon clearing much easier.
Potency is one of the best Secondary Attributes to scale for classes like Monk that come with many AoE attacks. With the higher CC duration, players will have a much easier time in the late game.
