Don't Nod haven't released an action game since Vampyr all the way back in 2018, but they are back with Banishers Ghosts of New Eden a spiritual action-adventure set in 1695. But, what do you need to know about the game before the Banishers Ghosts of New Eden release date?


Well, unlike Vampyr, Banishers looks to incorporate a lot more of the studio's narrative strengths with a story focused around two lovers. But, it won't be skimping on the action either with a set of tools and powers to use as you banish ghosts in the haunting wilds of North America.

Banishers Ghosts of New Eden release date rumors

Banishers Ghosts of New Eden is set to release in late 2023 on PS5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC. There won't be a last-gen release of the game.


The window was given in the announcement trailer for the game at The Game Awards in 2022. Hopefully, we should get a honed-down release window sometime in early 2023 or the Spring.

Banishers Ghosts of New Eden story

In Banishers Ghosts of New Eden, you play as Red mac Raith in 1695 who is a Banisher, a ghost hunter who vowed to protect the living from the threat of lingering ghosts and spectres. His love, Antea Duarte was a Banisher as well, but after a failed mission she is wounded and becomes one of the spirits she loathes.


Now the couple explores the haunted wilds of North America, one alive and one spectral searching for ways to free Antea from her plight. We don't know much more but Don't Nod tease in a press release that you will have to decide how much you compromise your ghost-hunting vow for the sake of your lover.

Banishers Ghosts of New Eden gameplay

We haven’t seen any gameplay of Banishers Ghosts of New Eden yet, besides a very small tease at the end of the reveal trailer showcasing the third-person action. But, a press release reveals that you will solve hunting cases to find ancient secrets and banish creatures using your own arsenal and skills, and Antea's spiritual powers.


We should get an extended look at the game in 2023 where we will update this part of the article.
