Warzone 2 loadout drops are back on the menu, and they're dirt cheap
Wondering when to buy loadout drops in Warzone 2? Well, it looks like you can now - thanks to a bug that also makes them ridiculously cheap
We know the Call of Duty community was quite concerned when Infinity Ward revealed that loadout drops would not be widely used in Warzone 2, but it looks like there are plans to bring this feature back to Warzone 2 Future. Why are we saying this? Well, right now, Warzone 2 players can actually buy a Loadout Drop Marker from a Buy Station in Al Mazrah - and they're ridiculously cheap, too.
First shared on TikTok by Call of Duty content creator "ShockMcc" and highlighted on Twitter by Warzone 2 wizard "JGOD", it looks like you can buy a Loadout Drop Marker from a Buy Station in Warzone 2 - just like before - and it costs $2000.
That's a lot cheaper than Raven Software's first battle royale shooter, Call of Duty, and further suggests it's a bug in the game rather than an intentional addition. If you're struggling to get your hands on the best Warzone 2 loadouts, it might be worth getting into Al Mazrah before this gets patched - or patched properly and the price goes up.
If you'd like to see the footage for yourself, here's the TikTok uploaded to Twitter by Call of Duty content creator "HydroJT". But it's not too exciting as we've all seen people buying loadout drop markers and requesting loadout drops in Warzone.
With the Warzone 2 Season 1 Reloaded release date almost upon us, could we really see something like purchasable Loadout Drop Markers being introduced into the battle royale so shortly after their release without them? It's hard to say, but even if you can still unlock them through Strongholds, it seems like something the community wants.
But that doesn't mean the community will get it -- at least not yet. We think the current Warzone 2 system has some merits; It certainly prevented a meta from developing as quickly as we anticipated - as more people have to rely on in-game loot items. However, Warzone 2's best guns still make their presence felt and dominate the shootouts in Al Mazrah.
Warzone 2 has the potential to be one of the best competitive FPS games of the moment - and it's already a challenge to be one of the best battle royale games of the moment. Are purchasable loadout drop markers really what this game needs? We just don't know - but it's what they seem to be getting.
