Cyberpunk 2077 Patch 1.7: Release Date News & All Confirmed Features (2023)
With the Phantom Liberty DLC confirmed to arrive in 2023, when can players expect Cyberpunk 2077 update 1.7 to be released?
CD Projekt RED's dystopian RPG, Cyberpunk 2077, has sold more than 20 million copies in September 2022, something that seemed almost impossible after its failed launch. However, players have returned to Night City, immersing themselves in the world with numerous updates that fix and improve the game.
With the launch of the Edgerunners / 1.6 patch update in September 2022, there are a few things that need to be polished before the Phantom Liberty expansion. This article will discuss everything about the upcoming Cyberpunk 2077 v1.7 patch, including its release date and what to expect.
Cyberpunk 2077 Patch Update 1.7 – Release Date
At the time of writing, developer CD Projekt RED has yet to confirm a release date for the next planned patch update for Cyberpunk 2077. However, while the release window for previous patch updates has been somewhat controversial in recent months, we can use the timeframe to estimate a possible window period for the Cyberpunk 1.7 patch update .Over 20 million cyberpunks have been roaming the streets of Night City – partying with Jackie and getting to know Johnny, driving around with Panam and diving with Judy, hanging out with River and listening to Kerry’s songs.

The recent Edgerunners / 1.6 update was released on September 6, 2022, and players have been waiting for over six months since the previous update, patch 1.5. This update was released on February 15, 2022, so it's safe to assume that update 1.7 could arrive sometime in 2023, possibly at the same time as the Phantom Liberty expansion.
Cyberpunk 2077 Patch Update 1.7 - All Features Confirmed
Although the release date of the patch 1.7 update has not yet been confirmed by the developers, it can be said that players can expect from the upcoming update. As discussed during the Night City Wire: Edgerunners Special on September 6, 2022, game director Gabriel Amatangelo listed several key features in the upcoming patch update.According to Amatangelo, the previous patch update laid "the foundation for things to come," including massive changes for various game systems. One of those key changes is an upgrade to the police system, along with car-on-car combat, which should give the tiers "a whole new feel, dimension and immersion in the city."
In addition to the overhaul of the police system and machine-to-machine combat, Amatangelo also mentioned the changes to MaxTac that should accompany the overhaul of the police system. Likewise, the developer is planning a new melee gameplay cycle with follow-up actions for the perk tree.
Additionally, there are planned additions to Cyberware's mechanics that haven't been explained in full detail. Given that the Cyberpunk 2077 v1.5 patch update has fixed various bug issues and improved the Cyberware feature, more slots can be made, including new player items.
Cyberpunk 2077's next expansion, Phantom Liberty, is expected to be released in 2023 and includes more content and the return of Keanu Reeves' Johnny Silverhand. Pending official confirmation from the developer on the release of the Cyberpunk 1.7 patch, we will do our best to provide more updates as soon as more reliable information is available.
