Elden Ring has a variety of NPC characters to help you become an Elden Lord. One of these characters is the sorceress Sellen. You will first interact with her in the Waypoint Ruins after defeating the Crazy Pumpkinhead guarding her abode. After completing a series of tasks and quests, she will state that her current form is just a spectral projection. And her true physical form is imprisoned in the basement of the Witch Ruins. How to free the sorceress Sellen in the ruins of Witchbane in Elden Ring

You can find Sellen in the Witchbane Ruins located on the Weeping Peninsula under the basement. You can find the Weeping Peninsula south of Marika's Fourth Church, the place of Grace. As you progress, you'll also find a Wandering or Walking Mausoleum along the way. But before progressing, there are a few prerequisites to match this version of Sellen. You must defeat the Starscrouge boss Radahn before meeting her.

Once you reach the Witchbane Ruins, you'll find a staircase that leads you down into the basement. You must go down these stairs to find the sorceress Sellen in her physical form. After interacting with her, she will reward you with a Primordial Shining Stone to take care of. You will be tasked with transferring this Glintstone to another version of her. Note that this version will be separate from the ones you encountered here or in Limgrave.


Now head to Ranni's Rise west of the Three Sisters region. There you must find an illusory floor between the various arches. You need to hit it to open the stairs. Here is the exact location of the illusion floor:

Going down the stairs, you will see an illusory wall leading to the basement. In this place you will find another enchantress Sellen. Interact and give her the Primal Glintstone to progress further into Sellen's quest line. You can find her in the same location until you defeat Rennala, Queen of the Full Moon. She will resume selling you sorcery in the same location.

Who to choose between Jeren or Sellen?

After defeating Rennala, you will have to choose between Jeren and the sorceress Sellen. To do this, go to the website of the great library of Raya Lucara Grace. There you will find two challenge signs. A golden summon sign indicates a summon to Jeren with Sellen. While the red challenge sign indicates a challenge to Cellen with the help of Jeren.
