Harry Potter fanatics looking for friendship in Ravenclaw might be disappointed as new leaks signal companions won't be in every Hogwarts Legacy house.


The scale of Hogwarts Legacy is the stuff of pure Potterhead dreams. To herald one of the greatest adventures in the Harry Potter universe to date, every wizard needs a trusty companion to confide in. Each Hogwarts Legacy house seems to have its own companion waiting in the wings, but now new leaks suggest Ravenclaw fans could be left without a friend on their Wizarding World journey.


It feels like an eternity since Hogwarts Legacy was announced, but we are finally approaching the Hogwarts Legacy release date. But this is no ordinary Harry Potter-inspired story. Once you've explored all of Hogwarts Legacy's characters, you'll come across a number of companions that may hold deeper secrets. Split across the Hogwarts legacy houses, many fans assumed each house would have its own aspiring ally.


Following a major leak of the official Hogwarts Legacy artbook, Redditor KubaBVB09 claims that "there are only three companions: Natty, Poppy, and Sebastian (via the Relationships Quest Page)". The companions above represent Hufflepuff, Gryffindor and Slytherin respectively. In particular, players sorted into Ravenclaw won't seem to traverse the game with a dedicated friend along the way.





Developer Avalanche Studio confirmed that classmates would pop up from every house at Hogwarts, with new Ravenclaw character Amit Thakkar joining the game's roster. However, his status as a companion has not been made clear. It's possible the tweet's playful "Eben Ravenclaw" nod is a subtle endorsement. Nonetheless, at this point, Potterheads, it's pure speculation.


While it hasn't been confirmed if players can befriend wizards outside of their home, the decision to hold back a Ravenclaw companion would definitely be a missed opportunity for Harry Potter fans. Companions will play a key role in exclusive quest lines in Hogwarts Legacy, and some have theorized that Harry Potter might be in the game after all.


There are still many stones unturned for Hogwarts Legacy fans, but for now we just have to see what mysteries await Potterheads.

While Avalanche has confirmed that J.K. Rowling is not "directly involved" in the development of Hogwarts Legacy, working alongside "her team" and Portkey Games, a Warner Bros. label dedicated to the launch of new J.K. Rowling's original stories. It's currently unclear if she will receive royalties from sales of the game, but it's likely based on her original work.
