With Payday 3's release date fast approaching, here's everything we know about the co-op shooter so far to keep you informed before you go


Do you know the saying "crime pays"? Well, and patience too. It's been a long time since we've had a brand new title in the Payday franchise, but Payday 3's release date is just around the corner. After Payday developer Starbreeze finally dug itself out of the financial hole by signing a co-publishing deal with Prime Matter, the future of Payday 3 was secured.


With such a big gap between the excellent Payday 2 and the new game, and all this financial turmoil with the game's developer, there are a lot of questions about this game. When is Payday 3 coming out, what will it be like and what platforms can I play it on?

Payday 3 Release Date Rumors

Payday 3 release date is set for 2023, but we don't have any platforms yet. The date was announced in the New Year's Payday 3 trailer, which teased the co-op action we can expect.


There's a lot of excitement for the game, so we hope to start seeing more soon.

The story of Payday 3

We don't know much about the game's story yet, but it does take place a few years after the crew's reign over Washington. After an early retirement, they regroup to deal with a new threat.


Hopefully we'll get a better synopsis later this year.

Payday 3 gameplay

Payday 3 doesn't have a full special trailer yet, but we did get a brief teaser in the game's New Year's Eve trailer. We've seen the first gameplay look at the co-op title and a tease of the large cityscape the game will take place in. You can watch the trailer below:
