Hogwarts Legacy Best Graphics Settings

After a whole year of delay, one of the most anticipated games of 2023, Hogwarts Legacy, is finally out. So far, looking at the reviews from the community and the various reviewers, we can safely say that the game is a hit. Hogwarts Legacy has everything a Potterhead and an RPG lover want. The only thing it doesn't have is the performance to back its awesome gameplay on PC. The system requirements for this game are high, and it was evident that there would be performance issues. I don't really get the sense behind making games so demanding these days because not everyone in this world can afford high-end systems for gaming, and since the recent rise in pricing, it has been tougher than ever. On top of that, there are other annoying bugs and errors. For this reason, we thought of showing you the best graphics settings for Hogwarts Legacy using the RTX 3060Ti GPU.

Specifications of our test rig

We always recommend running Hogwarts Legacy at medium to high settings if you want to balance the visuals and the performance. To be honest, considering the system requirements, it is worthless to benchmark games using flagship hardware. It's the mid-tier products that we should focus on because most of us are using those GPUs to run our games and to be honest, we know that all games will run with no issues if you have a high-end graphics card.

The system requirements for Hogwarts are somewhat on the higher side, but we tested it out on our mid-range Gaming PC. Here are the specifications of our rig running Hogwarts Legacy:

Speaking about how the game looks on the settings given above, why don't you take a look by yourself:

Hogwarts Legacy Best Graphics Settings

This game surprisingly looks very good, even on medium settings. Even on medium settings, Hogwarts Legacy retains the details of most of its elements. You might think that setting Shadows too Low might make the game look bad. But that doesn't happen.

This game runs very well, on medium-end cards, and if you have an RTX 30 series GPU, then you should be good.

Now, coming to the issues of the game. Hogwarts Legacy is not an optimized game, to be very clear. The way some settings of this game act, is kind of stupid. I have actually noticed at times that the game is giving me less FPS on Medium Settings than what it would give me on High Settings. It is not something that happens regularly. But that is a problem. Another issue is that, this game eats a ton of RAM. If you check out my video where I am testing this game on the RTX 3060 Ti, you will notice that this game, at times, is eating up 22 GB of RAM:

That is extremely high, if you ask me. Which means if you are someone who is trying to play this game with 16 GB RAM on 1440p, you are bound to struggle. The sad part is neither Nvidia nor AMD released any driver optimized for Hogwarts Legacy. In fact, this game didn't even receive a day-1 patch on PC. Which should have arrived by now, and added more balance to the PC version.

Anyway, I just cannot recommend this game to GTX 1050 Ti, GTX 1650, or any low-end GPU users until the devs take care of the performance issues. This game badly needs optimization. And trust me, once the bad performance of the game gets taken care of, Hogwarts Legacy has the potential to be one of the best games of 2023.
